When to Seek Emergency Veterinary Care

If your pet is experiencing any of the following symptoms, you may need to seek emergency care.

Difficulty breathing

Uncontrolled or excessive bleeding

Loss of consciousness

Excessive vomiting or diarrhea

Appearance of broken bone

Object stuck in throat

Seizures

Ingestion of toxic substance such as antifreeze, rat poison, pesticides, household
    cleansers or medication that wasn’t prescribed for the pet

Difficulty urinating or defecating

Sudden collapse or inability to stand up

Disorientation

Injury to eyes and/or sudden blindness

Heatstroke

High or Low temperatures (more than 104 or less than 99)

Tender, swollen abdomen—accompanied by gagging and attempts to vomit

During our office hours, our trained doctors and technicians can treat a wide range of emergency medical conditions. Within minutes of arriving at our facility, your pet will be seen, accessed, and provided the best medical care.   

If it is at all possible to call before you arrive, we ask that you please do so. This allows us to better prepare for your arrival and for the emergency at hand.
